You know what I would love to see? This as the second in a diptych or series, the first of which would be the same scene, but one of deceiving appearances, so that the second hits you as the disturbing revelation of the reality you don't see at first.

Of course it's digital. It has a sterile perfection that's inherent in all digital art due to the process. The artist is amazingly talented regardless of medium and it would be a treat to see him live up to his potential and inflect real charm into his illustrations by ditching zeros and ones in favor of pen and ink.
I would like to offer my apology for my comment yesterday regarding digital art. At the time I certainly didn't want to insult your artistic skills, but I feel I did so indirectly by implying that your excellent talent was wasted on digital art. In retrospect I was feeling hostile towards all digital art. I ignorantly associated your art with all of the aspects of digital art that I don't like, even though your art possesses none of these negative aspects.

Alf, no problem, I understand the feelings regarding digital art. I know a lot of that is related to a feeling that shortcuts are made in digital imagery that becomes a sort of cheating to the real process of physically drawing or painting the same thing. That is often the case with many images found online.
However, there are those digital artists out there who take no short cuts and probably go into such obsessive detail that the same images we create, were they painted or drawn, would have been far easier to create. I can tell you that this Baba Yaga piece took me somewhere between 150 to 200 hours to create.
I want to get into creating physical art more but there's so many visions that I need to express through the digital medium that it always falls by the wayside.
