Bestiario

Found these incredible beasts in cloth on this flickr page from Pedro Tornero. There is a selection of other artworks collected at Tornero's flickr page. I'm unaware of any background information regarding these works other than the mention of Averno, a name that the Greeks gave to a crater near Cumas which they thought was the entrance to the Underworld, was mentioned alongside one of these pics.

Robert Adam Gilmour - IAMRAGMAR!!!

My friend and incredible artist Robert Adam Gilmour has updated his blog with a fantastic collection of his strange sexual and demented art spanning the past several years. Knowing that he is 21 years of age right now it is impressive to see all that he has accomplished in such a short time. I can only imagine the amazing work he'll be doing in his 30's and 40's. Check out his art blog " IAMRAGMAR!!!" here.

I should also mention that Robert is one of a small circle of artists who make up the Eaten By Ducks art group collective.

Lucas Cranach Sr - The Last Judgement

The above pictures are from a painting (oil on wood) of the Last Judgement, dated between 1525 and 1530. Painting found thanks to this Flickr photo collection.

"Lucas Cranach the Elder's depiction of "The Origins of the Papacy," printed in Luther's The Papacy at Rome, Founded by the Devil (1545). The work shows the pope being born of the devil's shit and being suckled and reared by demons." - quote and image source.

The above woodcut from 1512 by Cranach is one of the earlier depictions of a werewolf.

Wojtek Siudmak

"Siudmak, an artist of Polish origin, settled in France in 1966 and is considered one of the principal representatives of fantastic realism.."

I noticed a similarity between Sidumak and another Polish artist,
Zdzislaw Beksiński. I'm always amazed at the dark fantastic imaginations of so many of the artists from that area. There is an official website for Siudmak here. If the artist or representative of would like these works removed contact me at evilenergy At yahoo.com

And be sure to check out the Dune illustrations Siudmak recently did for a new edition of the book here and here.
