Monster Brains Turns 14!

Matt Furie

Monster Brains was created 14 years ago on January 23rd, 2006.  I have many great posts planned for 2020 and beyond. If you've enjoyed what I've contributed to Monster Brains over the nearly decade and a half, please consider donating to the site.

Any donation from you makes it easier for me to continue finding and sharing amazing and obscure art related to the field of monsters at Monster Brains!

And there is the new one at the top of the site created by Michael Skattum.

This week marks the ten year anniversary of Monster Brains so now is as good a time as any to share some of the amazing logos that Monster Brains has had over the years. Many incredible artists have contributed their own logos and I've included links to their various sites alongside their artworks.

If you appreciate Monster Brains and the work that I put into the thousands of artworks shared over the past ten years, if you anticipate the hundreds of future posts that I have in various stages of planning, please donate whatever you can. It will be greatly appreciated and every dollar donated makes it easier for me to take the time to work on the site.

The donation button can be found on the top right of the site.

Thank you! I look forward to many more years of discovering and sharing the more obscure and fascinating artists associated with the genre of monsters.

Dieter Van der Ougstraete

The above four images are from Dieter's recently released 20 page illustrated book titled "The Core" of which there are 100 copies made. The following is a summary of the story..  "The year 3012. Mankind is on the eve of Apocalypse. Again. An alien with a sinister plan. A man-eating oracle. A deadly game. To the rescue comes the Traveller. Big, Bold, Butt-naked... His journey to 'the Core' starts here."  People who are interested in buying The Core can send an e-mail to Wolfgang from Hirntrust through the following address. infect at hirntrust.at

As you've probably noticed, Dieter created the current Monster Brains banner image using his trademark weirdo creature designs. You can see more of Dieter's work at his flickr page, portfolio site, blog and his shirt designs can be purchased from King Chin.
