Erotic Abominations, 1978

The Naked Jungle posted a bizarre assortment of paintings earlier this year, the last two of which I found particularly interesting. According to one of the comments on there they originate from a vintage issue of Hustler Magazine, July 1978. If anyone is in possession of this magazine, I would love to see high resolution scans of these paintings.

Guy Davis - The Marquis, Inferno

I planned on doing this post next month but the newly collected comic stories of The Marquis by Guy Davis was released a month early and is in stores now. If you enjoy the monsters I post here you'll really like the bizarre assortment of hellish beasts that Guy has drawn in this fantastic book. He recently started a blog showcasing sketches and various artworks related to The Marquis, check it out here.

Visit Guy's website for more information on The Marquis.

And it appears the book is still listed only as a preorder through Dark Horse, but if you check out a local comic or book store, you're likely to find this sitting on the shelf.

Mat Brinkman - Multiforce Drawings

Here is the Drawn and Quarterly article the above drawings were originally posted in.

I highly suggest buying Brinkman's Multiforce collection from Picturebox. I have most of the Paper Rodeos the original strips appeared in and the book does a great job reproducing the chaotic full page glory of this amazing fantasy world from Brinkman.

I also recommend checking out Skeleton Jelly, one of my favorite comic strips.
