Salvator Rosa, Temptation of Saint Anthony, original and imitation?
I was looking for paintings by Salvator Rosa and stumbled across this copy of his Temptation Of Saint Anthony painting. It's attributed to Rosa and dated 1646 at the blog where I found it, but I'm almost certain this is an imitation by another artist of the original above.
This woodblock print comes from J.A.S. Collin de Plancy's "Dictionnaire Infernal" released in Paris, 1863.

I remember when I first ran across that painting, having loved the engraving since I was a kid. I hadn't seen that third version until now. Thanks!
I swear Tony Diterlizzi did a take on it in one of the D&D Planescape rulebooks. If I can find and scan it, are you interested?
Thanks, yeah send it my way.
