The following collection of illustrations will take you on a journey through the fantastic, disturbing and bizarre stories of Howard Phillips Lovecraft.

Entities From the Land Beyond The Wall of Sleep

Ok, finishing off Lovecraft week I give you scans from a book I've had since childhood. These pages from the book "S. Petersen's Field Guide To Creatures Of The Dreamlands" have been a great inspiration to me for most of my life. I blame much of my passion for strange monsters and odd looking creatures on this book. I had "S. Petersen's Field Guide To Cthulhu Monsters" as well. Unfortunately it was as I remember left at the house of some kid whose parents were Christians, we'll leave it at that. I didn't get into Lovecraft until my mid teens and it always struck me as funny that I've been obsessed with these Lovecraftian monsters since being much younger, yet having no concept of the text they were from.

Here are a few additional links to Lovecraft related works..

Lovecraft.ru - confusing to navigate but full of great Lovecraft related artworks

And I've one last thing concerning Lovecraft that I'll be posting later tonight. It concerns a large art exhibit of works inspired by Lovecraft going on in Switzerland this October. Check out the amazing H.R Giger statue they have hanging out in the front of their building.

Enjoy the monsters...

Hey, Thanks for the images, great stuff. I particularly like the Dore prints.

Have you heard the new Lovecraft audiobook productions? ...awesome. Publisher's website:

The narration can only be described as perfect.
