wait, wasn't this also a story in the Marvel Star Wars comics? I distinctly remember reading this with Tom Palmer inks.

Sean has it! It's an adaptation of Marvel's Star Wars #55, "Plif!" David Michelinie and Walt Simonson, with inks by Palmer!

The issue is reproduced in the Dark Horse softcover collection Screams In The Void, the fourth volume of their anthology of the old Marvel Star Wars.

Several of the pages are direct re-workings of the Marvel Comics iss, e.g. that first page with Leia, Chewie and the other Rebels on speederbikes is based on the first page of "Plif!"

That is so freakin' cool.

Plif was the ma... er... the Hoojib. He ended up being a minor recurring character in the series, and actually managed to be more awesome than the series' first bunny character (Jaxxon, who a lot of fans hate, but I'll always have a soft spot for because he debuted in one of the first Star Wars comics I ever owned as a little kid). But I had no idea Plif had appeared in another medium--I thought he'd been unfairly confined to the comics; even if this record/book is just a retelling of one of the comics, it's still cool.

Thank you for posting that. I'm tickled pink.

Awesome. Have you heard the vinyl read-along album it came with? I found this one at a garage sale a few years ago and it had that. Pretty goofy/great.

@Sean-Yes, these guys appeared in a couple different stories in the comics. There's a list of all their appearances here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Hoojib

I remember reading this at a friend's place as a kid. The one word that stuck with me all these 25+ years is "outcrop" ... as soon as I recognised this book I had to look for that word and, well, there it is.

Man I remember this. I read the comic and I have this book still. Not certain, but I think the record is long lost.
Glad to see it again.
