James Ensor
Ensor's imagery is very nightmarish. Characters have faces that resemble masks, demons taunt and torment people in a variety of ways. There's always some sinister character or act set forth in his work. Apart from his disturbing masked characters which he is most well known for, he was also a master at depicting architecture, as can be seen in this etching.

5th Gallery - Check out the first picture in this gallery. The image is huge and lets you really study Ensor's mark making.

Naoto Hattori
This gallery contains a balance between portraits of peculiar looking characters and surreal landscapes filled with unusual monsters. Be sure to check out the 4th page of Hattori's gallery to see some great monster drawings.

Richard Neir
Neir's imagery consists of surreal environments of strangely formed landscapes and figures. Some of his more recent work resembles a newspaper wadded together only to grow into a living thing and fold back out. Some of my favorite works of his are in these series.

Lee Misenheimer's "Destroy Rock City"
Some very haunting drawings here. The hatch marks really add to the effect of these looking like deformed humans. Some of the best face drawings I've ever seen. You can purchase a small book of drawings for 4 bucks by this artist here. I'm planning on picking up a copy for myself.
