Sea Monsters
This first link is an interesting array of small images of various sea abominations.
There are a few illustrations by Warwick Goble of sea monster attacking in this link. I really like these two images and the text accompanying them is great.
"A sudden appearance out of the sea of a race of amphibious monsters, capable of wiping man out of existence."
"Loathsome animals of huge size will creep over the masses of ice."
Here is a quote from the article related to the above illustrations taken from here.
"Fossil remains of crabs, 6ft. in length, have been discovered, and such enormous creatures might -- owing to some cause or other -- multiply exceedingly.
Click the image on this link to see a larger version of this depiction of a whale and other sea monsters.
There is an interesting depiction of a sea serpent here.
This old map of Iceland has some interesting illustrations of fabled monsters around the island.
This link has no artwork but there are some good descriptions of legendary sea monsters.
Last but not least, here's pictures of real sea monsters.

If we imagine a shark that could raid out upon the land, or a tiger that could take refuge in the sea, we should have a fair suggestion of what a terrible monster a large predatory crab might prove. And, so far as zoological science goes, we must, at least, admit that such a creation is an evolutionary possibility.
Then there are the cuttlefish, the octopus, and other denizens of the deep, any of which might conceivably grow in numbers, and extinguish man. "Click the image on this link to see a larger version of this depiction of a whale and other sea monsters.

Pulp Madness!
Finishing off Pulp week here at Monster Brains, here is a gigantic gallery of sci fi and fantasy pulp covers spanning many decades and dozens of publications. The number of covers they have collected here is really impressive, there must be at least a couple thousand pics to browse through. They have sections for pulp magazines, paperbacks, interior illustrations, and many French language magazine covers.
The section where I found some of the most interesting and strange art was under the cover section for the magazine "Fiction". Check it out.
Check out some of these really weird covers. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

Fletcher Hanks
Fletcher Hanks comics are filled with rigidly drawn characters battling bizarre forces with powers that are both Godlike and surreal. The use of primary colors in most of Fletcher's comics only adds to the strange dreamlike atmosphere of the stories.
Scroll to the bottom of the link posted above to see 3 Fletcher comics. Below you'll find links to various Fletcher Hanks comics. Unfortunately there's pop ups in a few of them, so beware.

Virgil Finlay
Another great artist associated with pulp comics, Finlay's intricate linework is comparable to the likes of Gustave Dore or Albrecht Durer.
See Datajunkie's posts showcasing scans of Finlay's art by click the following numbers... 1 2 3
Click here to see an illustration Finlay did of a Lovecraft story, part of which can be seen above.

Rodney Matthews
Matthews has created many paintings exploring fantastic landscapes with alien monsters and strange technology, usually in some form of conflict. His interpretation of trains and cars are very bizarre. Click here to see a second gallery of his work.

Richard A. Kirk
Many strange pictures to be found in this gallery. The running theme in much of the work is a very grotesque mutation in the human figure, from completely abstracted facial distortions such as this, to the golem sized beast in this image. The pictures are incredibly detailed and the ink washes in the gallery section are amazing.
