Stephen Fabian

Illustrations for The Dream of X by William Hope Hodgson. The novel was originally released in 1912 but these illustrations are from an edition published in 1977. See more in this article at Golden Age Comic Book Stories.

I highly recommend Hodgson's novel "The House On The Borderland" a novel which H.P Lovecraft lists among his greatest influences. Buy it, read it, you won't regret it. It's available on Amazon for ten dollars And if you've some money to spend, my friends at Centipede Press recently published a beautiful collection of Hodgson's writings also featuring many incredible illustrations, get it here.

Those are amazing illustrations, though I can't recall the story - I'll have to dig it up again.

The House on the Borderland is a classic horror novel, way ahead of its time and would hopefully lead readers into Hodgson's many other ghost stories and sea-going mysteries.
