New Poll
I'm thinking about making shirts like the one above, more specifically, a shirt like the one above, for me. Depending on if there's interest I might make a few available for sale on here.

And I just noticed that the alien bears a striking similarity to a piece of human male anatomy. "

Chris Mostyn's Monsterama!
Check out "Mr Mostyn's Monsterama" where Chris shares his passion for monsters. And visit Squat Thrust to see Mostyn's regular blog of art, still filled with monsters.

I ran into Chris on the Art Dorks site several years ago and have enjoyed his art since.  We are both members of the criminally insane art group, Eaten By Ducks.

Finned Octopoda

A detailed article at Tonmo includes information related to each of these bizarre creatures, some of them rare specimens.

With the end of the current poll it would seem most of you are interested in what I can dig up from the real world that relates to monsters. So here are a few examples of strange octopus and squid, what I find to be among the more fantastic and surreal creatures on the planet.

Previously mentioned unusual photos of octopus and squid can be viewed here and here.

These sort of posts won't be made often, maybe once a month. I'm sure most of you will enjoy seeing the more bizarre creatures on the planet and how similar they can be to the most horrifying monsters of the imagination.
Jay Hong?
All I have to go on with this image is the name Jay Hong in the file name, so I assume that is the artist.

Random Pictures

edit - These are pictures that I had sitting around in no paricular order so I don't know the origins of many of them. Most should be obvious as being props, costumes and screenshots of various monster flicks. For people not familiar with the girl being consumed by the large head, that is one of my favorite creations of Screaming Mad George. It is a wretched snake beast that Freddy Krueger turns into in... I think the third Nightmare On Elm Street film? I hope to gather a solid colletion of examples from Screaming Mad George's paintings and sculptures to do a post on in the future. An old issue of Art? Alternative has a great article on him with photos of his incredible artworks. I'll have to dig that issue up and scan some pics out of it.
