Sylvia Roberti

I discovered these drawings in a post at the Swapatorium blog. These works were apparently acquired at a garage sale of all places. According to a message on that page, Sylvia Roberti lived from 1910 to 1985 and spent much of her life in Chicago. I imagine she was inspired by the works of the Hairy Who. These odd characters remind me of the groups odd and cartoon like stylization of human figures.

One of the greatest artists of the last century in fantastic and monstrous imagery, Dado paints and draws grotesque abstractions of humans. I think of him as an expressionistic version of Hieronymus Bosch. His works are usually filled to the brim with wild nightmarish visions but if you squint your eyes you can almost see a colorful scene void of any horror.

Luke Przybylski
Here is the art blog of my friend Luke Przybylski. He's made many phantastic drawings. Some of his recent work involves bizarre digital manipulations that resemble dream like organic formations. He's also a member of the art group I'm attached to "Eaten By Ducks".
