The paintings of Heyninck are intensely detailed, the landscapes and characters within them often becoming one and the same. What at first glance would appear as a rock cliff turns into the gaping mouth of a bizarre creature.

Dan Seagrave
The detail in many of Seagrave's paintings is unbelievable. He carves out giant chunks of imaginary worlds which upon looking at them, feel like amusement park rides. The city environments always come across as organic and alive, as though the buildings themselves were moving.
* Thanks for pointing this artist out to me, Luke.

Alfred Kubin
2nd Gallery
In Kubin's illustrated world, humans tend to appear as skeletal ghost like creatures or hideously deformed things. They pass through surreal and nightmarish landscapes, sometimes moving in large crowds towards bizarre portals.
